Switch save concepts, platform questions and JKSV background explained.
A backup that lives only on the microSD card inside your Switch is one lost card away from being no backup at all. That is why JKSV can upload its backups automatically: it supports WebDAV and a native Google Drive connection, so a copy of every save archive can leave the console as soon as…
JKSV runs on the original Nintendo Switch under Atmosphère, which in practice means most people looking for a console to use with JKSV are shopping for a first-generation, launch-era Switch — the generation produced before Nintendo revised the hardware. New consoles of that generation are long gone from shelves, so the second-hand market is the…
JKSV writes your save backups to the microSD card inside your Switch. Sooner or later you will want those archives somewhere else as well — on a PC, an external drive, or uploaded to cloud storage. That is where a good card reader and a few honest USB accessories earn their place. A slow or…
A new kind of memory card is appearing in shops, and it is causing real confusion. microSD Express cards cost noticeably more than regular microSD cards, carry different logos, and are marketed alongside the Nintendo Switch 2.
